À travers les murs

Texte

The À Travers les Murs association, set up by students at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, provides training in public speaking and eloquence for people in prison. After numerous teaching experiences in a variety of environments (high schools, universities, companies, etc.), it was a quest for usefulness that motivated the creation of the association. The project can be summed up in one sentence: "Giving voice, giving back".

The aim of the association is to develop oral communication in prisons, in order to help reintegrate people deprived of their liberty, with a view to helping participants regain their self-confidence, break the dynamics of recidivism, and pacify relations between inmates and the prison administration within the establishments.

The project, the brainchild of a handful of law students driven by a desire to pass on their knowledge, has received considerable support from the prison administration and the Ministry of Justice.

Juris’cup

Texte

For the 33rd edition of the Juris'cup, students from the Sorbonne Law School are planning to take part in this not-to-be-missed annual event for lawyers, combining regattas and conferences on yachting law.

Over 4 days, from September 12 to 15, 2024, 2,200 jurists from 13 different nations will meet on 130 boats.

This event is particularly in line with the innovative approach of the Sorbonne Law School.

Indeed, in addition to the Licence en droit, the Collège de droit offers an opening onto subjects other than law, such as history, management, economics, finance, sociology and philosophy. Its aim is to train a generation of professionals who are aware of the challenges facing the lawyer or decision-maker of the 21st century, and to take them beyond the technicalities of the law.

Open-mindedness to intellectual sharing and reflection events such as Juris'cup is essential to forging an open, rich and determined mind.
