The Foundation, partner of the AMMA Award
The Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne Foundation is now the official partner of the Prix Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne pour l'art contemporain (Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne Prize for Contemporary Art) awarded by the University's Master 2 Art Market Association (AMMA). The prize, designed to reward young contemporary artists, was created by students for students. Its aim is to act as a springboard and an opening onto the current art scene.
Fifteen students at art schools or young artists who graduated less than two years ago were selected from 130 applications. Three prizes will be awarded and fully funded by the Foundation: the Jury Prize, the Public Prize and the Alumni & Foundation Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne Coup de Coeur.
The jury for this prize is made up of influential figures from the art world. This year's jury will include Rafael Pic, Editor-in-Chief of Quotidien de l'art, Alexandra Schillinger, Director of Galerie Loevenbruck, and Léa Bloch, Head of sales in the Modern and Impressionist Art department at Christie's Paris. With the foundation and a series of partnerships with the CVEC, FSDIE and Sorbonne Artgallery, the AMMA team - now made up of Lise Petulla (President), Louise Aubert (Vice-President), Apolline Bétron (Treasurer), Salomé Pluvinage (General Secretary) and Marie Deleau (Head of Awards) - has succeeded in forging a valuable link between students, artists and art market professionals.
Candidates' works will be presented at the Bastille Design Center (4, boulevard Richard Lenoir - 75011 Paris) on February 16, 17 and 18, 2023. The exhibition is open to all and free of charge.
